God Loves You and Me Daily Devotional

Introduction
I have taught about God's love for decades, and I never get tired of it as a subject. This is because the certainty of His love brings a serenity, a life-changing hope, even amazement - to all who hear about it. As I sit here typing out this paragraph, I am struggling with the reality, a friend of my granddaughter has days maybe hours to live because of cancer. Yet, in this sad situation we all have hope - because of God's love. My granddaughter's friend will pass from the pain of this world into the arms of the God Who loves him dearly. I must admit, to write again about God's love is not work for me at all, because the remembrance of His love always brings a peace and joy to my life, and makes me more determined than ever to love and trust the God Who loves me so much.
Here is some background to this daily devotional, God Loves You and Me. I wrote a Bible study on God's love for a Christian organization many years ago. I rewrote the study again over a decade ago - this is posted on the Because of God website. Then I felt God wanted me to take the study and edit it into a daily devotional. This way people who want to learn about God's love daily, or do not have the time for a long Bible study, can do a little each day.
This daily devotional will have new insights and additional information, as well as more illustrations than my study about God's love does. This is because, yes, I want it to be different, but I have simply gotten older and wiser in my knowledge of God and His Word, and in my ability to write. It is also being made into a book like the daily devotional, The One True God - His Characteristics and Names, so it will evolve on my website as I put the book together. We will try to keep the revisions current.
This daily devotional, God Loves You and Me, will ultimately consist of 60 daily devotions organized under twelve lessons. Each day covers one or two different ways God loves us. It uses many Bible passages to support the thought-provoking commentary on God's love, and it uses a number of meaningful and interesting illustrations. It teaches about God's love through His actions, where His love is found in the Bible, and how to personally and practically apply His love.
Directions
In this devotional, I have used numerous Bible passages, so you can understand God's love for you from His words to you. The Bible, we could say, is God's love letter to you. Because of the amount of quoted Bible passages, for room's sake, I have cut some words or verses out. So, if you have the time, please re-read the whole passage in your Bible. All the Bible passages are from the English Standard Version (ESV) and the New American Standard Bible (NASB1995), so this devotional will flow more easily if you can read from those translations.
The devotional is written so you can apply the information as you read. The Life Application section at the end of each devotional gives you extra information to prayerfully apply to your life; there is also a verse or two to reflect on. Each day will take around 20 minutes - depending on the number and length of Bible readings; and how much you study. Please start each devotional asking God to teach you about His love.
The devotional is free to download and copy for those not using it for commercial purposes (see our Copyright Policy). Why free? I feel God wants me to get Biblical materials into women's hands as inexpensively as possible, so more women can have the opportunity to get into God's Word. I keep the price low on my books too for the same reason.
